Nagrik Adhika Manch started its journey in 2007 as a mass organization doing grassroots work for the basic needs of the urban poor. At present, Nagrik Adhikar Manch is a social organization registered in 2013 under the Madhya Pradesh Societies Act 1973, which works on the issue of urban poverty through youth. At present, Nagrik Adhika Manch is working in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
Nagrik Adhikar Manch primarily works for active citizenship by leading and training youth, workers, women and men to create awareness and safeguard the civil rights of the urban poor (as per Article 21 of the Constitution) and to promote them as citizens.

VISSION
To establish an exploitation free society where there is no discrimination on the basis of caste, religion and gender and everyone gets the opportunity to live a respectable life.

MISSION
To enhance the capacity of local leaders, people's organizations and institutions to effectively advocate for the economic, social, educational, cultural and human rights issues of marginalized groups, especially Dalits, Adivasis, minorities, women and children.

OBJECTIVE
• To inculcate a sense of active citizenship among the youth • To train citizens on Article 21 • To ensure social security of workers •To propagate the teachings of great men and saints through art and music.

VALUES
The organization will try to adopt constitutional values like justice, equality, freedom, fraternity, democracy, secularism, expression along with values like transparency and empathy in its work and behavior so that the dignity of all can be taken care of.
OUR INITIATIVE

ACCESS TO SOCIAL JUSTICE
Nagrik Adhikar Manch is ensuring access to basic needs of the community in urban slums, quality education, better health facilities and social security for unorganized sector workers and for this, information regarding necessary forms is being provided to the community through its Social Justice program.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
Nagrik Adhikar Manch forms self-help groups of women in urban slums and motivates them to do small savings. Due to this, women are getting economically empowered and now, being free from market debt, they are able to start their own employment, get their children admitted in good schools and build their own houses.

ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM
Nagrik Adhikar Manch is running Active Citizenship Program through Be A Jagrik Program with the aim of making the youth aware of their responsibilities towards the community and making them aware about the constitution, constitutional values and constitutional duties through training and activities, so that they become aware citizens.

CLIMATE CHANGE
Nagrik Adhikar Manch is running a campaign to make the community aware of the changes taking place in the environment due to global warming, the impact of these changes on the country, the world and our community, and the serious threat to the environment through public awareness campaigns, tree planting, seminars and competitions.

It addresses the core issue of urban poverty, with a focus on ending extreme poverty everywhere and ensuring social protection for vulnerable populations.

It works to ensure food security even in urban areas to ensure that everyone has access to adequate and nutritious food.

SDG 3 :GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
It focuses on ensuring that everyone, especially urban vulnerable populations, have access to essential health services.

SDG 6 : CLEAN WATER AND SANIATATION
This SDG ensures that the urban poor have access to good quality clean water and sanitation.

SDG 8 : DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
It promotes economic growth and decent work opportunities in urban areas, thereby reducing poverty.

SDG 10 : REDUCE INEQUALITIES
It aims to reduce inequalities in income and opportunity among people living in urban areas.

SDG 11: SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
It acknowledges the challenge of urbanisation and focuses on making cities safe, resilient and sustainable for all.

SDG 12 : CLIMATE ACTION
Immediate steps must be taken to address the problems (floods, health problems, unemployment and malnutrition) faced by the urban poor due to climate change and its damaging impacts.
